CHECK-IN
For everyone working at the start and finish: check in and meet up with the rest of your team in the lake parking lot (GPS - 929 Lake Hollingsworth Dr, 33803).

If the weather is accommodating, we will have the LRC tents set up, and there will be signs near the tents to direct you to the correct registration table.Â

SATURDAY
PARKING
For everyone working at the start/finish - parking at the lake will be first-come, first-served. Anyone parking in this lot will be required to stay onsite until the race is finished and the exit reopened.Â
For those volunteering as course monitors along the hills, see your task specific information for parking details.
VOLUNTEER SHIRT and SAFETY VESTS
All volunteers need to wear an orange LRC Volunteer shirt. Â
If you don't have one, we'll give you one when you check-in.
Volunteers in some positions will also need to wear a reflective safety vest.
RESTROOMS
There are Portalets on site for volunteers and participants to the east of the boat ramp at the lake parking lot.
A LITTLE EXTRA
Course monitors, you may be at your position for over an hour waiting for the sweeper to pass. You may bring a camp chair if you would like to sit waiting for the race to start.
MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
If you see a medical emergency, call 911.
If you see anyone that needs basic medical care, direct them to the EMTs stationed near the finish line area. Â
EMS will be at the finish line with an automated external defibrillator (AED) and first aid kit.

Volunteers will be provided contact information for the Race Day Point of Contact to call if someone needs basic first aid on the course.
The Lakeland Runners Club, Inc. is a subordinate 501(c)(3) under the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). An all-volunteer organization since its founding in 1974, the LRC produces the largest road race events in Polk County. Governed locally by a board of directors, their mission is to promote running and fitness for runners of all ages and abilities in the community through fellowship, education, and formal & informal running events. Their races and training programs welcome a broad population of runners, from local elite and competitive to recreational runners and walkers of every age, ability, and background. Â
The Lakeland Runners Club’s premier event is the Summer Sunrise Watermelon 5k Series, which has funded over $123,000 in scholarships for Polk County high school runners. The club holds the oldest, continuous race in Polk County, the Lake to Lake 10k first held in 1977. The club also produces the Mayfaire 5k started in 1980, and in 2023, the LRC partnered with Bonnet Springs Park for the Bonnet Springs Park 5k.
Lakeland has been designated a Runner Friendly Community by the RRCA. Runner Friendly Communities are committed to providing infrastructure for runners to safely pursue running and walking. This achievement also underscores Lakeland’s dedication to fostering positive relationships between the running community, the local government, and public and private organizations united to support running.
